Cheval Three Quays: Tower Bridge

Busy weeks can sometimes blur together. So it doesn’t help when you are up and down the country chasing interviews, photo-shoots and press days. Hotel rooms do tend to start with check in and finish with check out – without much thought after leaving. This is the curse of constantly travelling! I start to miss my bed, my things and the everyday conveniences of my cosy little home.

Feeling like I could do with a break from the ordinary I decided to book a stay in a serviced apartment instead of a hotel for my latest trip to London. So I spent a night at The Cheval Three Quays for a staycation of epic luxuriousness and, just as promised, they made me feel right at home.

Nestled between the contemporary culture and historic guise of the River Thames, Cheval Three Quays is a destination in the heart of the City of London. The location is in reach of the financial city, with vibrant East and cultural West End nearby. I had first visited The Cheval Residences for the lavish launch of the Debenhams Designer Apartment with Ben de Lisi – seeing the stunning views and chic interiors inspired me to book a stay.

Once I arrived I was directed to a luxury one bedroom apartment on the fourth floor overlooking the river. After throwing my coat and bag on the bed then putting my phone on to charge I got changed and stepped in to the walk in rain shower to start settling in to my new ‘home away from home’.

Once I had my hot shower I boiled the kettle, put on a fluffy white bath robe and explored the apartment. I heard a knock at the door and was delighted to find a hamper full of treats had been brought up to the apartment. Complete with porridge, tea, coffee, orange juice, fresh fruit, jams, bread, biscuits, chocolate (and a lovely bottle of wine of course) there was little else I could have needed for a night stay.

If, like me, you always feel a little awkward being fussed over in hotels then staying in a serviced apartment is perfect for you. There are all the comforts of being at home waiting for you in your room, you can cook for yourself and you’re left to enjoy your stay without being hassled by staff.

Overlooking the Thames, the Shard, HMS Belfast and the William Pye rooftop water feature the view was stunning. I found a pair of binoculars in the apartment which were perfect for people watching. As well as the floor to ceiling windows the apartment had a private balcony. When the sun began to set my guest arrived so we opened the bottle of wine to enjoy on our balcony as we toasted to our staycation in the city.

After a home cooked meal in the apartments fully fitted kitchen we put on a film, finished our wine and snuggled up on the sofa in front of a film. It hadn’t taken us long to feel right at home!

Cooking breakfast as the light streamed in through the windows was too dreamy for words. I brought my coffee, croissants and strawberries back to bed and made the most of the soft sheets before starting my day.

I must admit, as I packed my bag I wished I didn’t have to leave. The apartment had great space, great views and great light – what more could a girl want from a London home?

If you feel like all your travelling is beginning to blur into one then why not treat yourself to something a little different and stay at a serviced apartment? After just one night at The Cheval Residences I felt like it was my secret home away home and I’m sure you will too. You can browse the apartments and book a stay here:
