Dorsett: Shepherds Bush

London well and truly confirmed its fashion capital status at this seasons Fashion Week, with bloggers, celebs and fashionistas out in force. The cobbles of Soho were filled with street style enthusiasts braving the chilly weather in the latest spring trends and I have to say…I’m missing it already.

After a whirlwind day of running around the city for runway shows, press meetings and showroom tours I headed to The Dorsett in Shepherds Bush for a well deserved evening of relaxation! I was invited to try the exclusive Skinny Stiletto cocktail and I couldn’t wait to celebrate London Fashion Week in style…

As I walked to the hotel from Shepherds Bush Station, with my suitcase full of Fashion Week outfits in tow, I was really looking forward to being able to relax, unwind and indulge in a bit of ‘me-time’.

A cinema back in the 1920s, the hotel is a Grade II listed building that retains its historic façade. The reception area is decadent and gold with fresh flowers  adorning every surface so as I was handed a key by the concierge my fingers were crossed that my room was as beautiful as the rest of the hotel.

I was lucky enough to be staying in an executive room and it was just as beautiful as I had hoped! Despite The Dorsett being popular with businessmen it didn’t lack character or warmth like most corporate hotels. All of the rooms at the Dorsett are designed with a Chinese influence teamed with British style and the little touches made our room so special.

The oriental inspired wallpaper, cosy bird cage cushions and blue painted lamps made the room feel contemporary as well as chic.

As well as being stylish the room was exceptionally comfortable with a big bed and sofas to relax in. It felt so good to finally take my heels off after a day of running from show to show on the cobbles of Soho. There is very little a cup of tea and a long hot shower can’t fix so that was exactly what I did.

The luxurious marble bathroom had a large shower and bath complete with complimentary toiletries from The White Company. As I started running the shower I had no idea that the frosted glass gives whoever is in the bedroom a cheeky glimpse of you in the shower!

The view from the desk overlooked Shepherds Bush Common so I sat down to answer some emails and edit photographs from my day at London Fashion Week. I’m convinced that if my desk at home was this beautiful I would be a lot more productive!

Before dinner we went downstairs to the Jin Bar to enjoy a cocktail. The bar is located in the golden atrium of the hotel which is fabulously glamorous. The dazzling gold lighting and chic oriental-inspired furniture made it a wonderful place to chat and enjoy a pre-dinner drink.

The exclusive Skinny Stiletto cocktail was created in celebration of London Fashion Week and was available to hotel guests and visitors alike as London played host to the world’s fashion pack.

The creative cocktail was specially designed by the hotel’s head barman and was a delicious and refreshing mix of Sipsmith Gin’s Summer Cup, cold red berry tea, elderflower cordial and cranberry juice, topped off with a sour twist of cherry bitter. Best of all it was decorated with a dainty edible flower to make it really instagram-worthy!

Non gin-lovers need not fear as Jin Bar also offers a wide selection of signature cocktails, including two of my favoruites: the Dorsett Duchess – a fruity lychee, apple and lemonade concoction, and the Montecristo Daiquiri – a blend of Havana Club 3 year cigar infused with vanilla syrup, elderflower liqueur and lime juice. My mouth is watering just thinking about them…

After a heavenly night’s sleep we awoke early for another busy day at Fashion Week! I had breakfast, with plenty of coffee, before heading to central London for a morning yoga session followed by a blow dry – all before my first show at 11am! You can read more about my LFW adventures that day and see my outfit here.

The buffet breakfast had plenty of fresh fruit and pastries. I helped myself to a generous portion of zesty oranges and grapefruit but I couldn’t resist having a blueberry breakfast muffin too!

For fashionistas seeking a stylish base during the frenzy of Fashion Week I couldn’t have recommended The Dorsett Shepherds Bush more! It’s conveniently located to London transport networks and boasts modern architecture, beautifully appointed bedrooms and has two sumptuous restaurants.
