My Notting Hill Street Style With Topshop

It’s hard to resist the charm of the leafy streets of Notting Hill on a Saturday morning. Walking past the pretty pastel houses on Denbigh Terrace and hunting for vintage treasures in Portobello Market with a coffee in hand is the perfect way to start the weekend.

Albertine and I were headed to Farm Girl Cafe for rose lattes but the queue was circling round the block so we decided to give it a miss. Despite missing out on one of their pink tables and a stack of berry pancakes we made the most of our trip and snapped some street style shots for our blogs (the perks of living with another Instagram-addict). For a morning of imaginary house-hunting in Notting Hill I wore my weekend essentials – Mom jeans and a white shirt by Topshop.

The pretty autumnal floral embroidery on the side of my Mom jeans is so gorgeous and I love the high-waist cut. I wear them folded at the cuffs (which I pretend is a fashion statement but it’s actually because I’m super short and they’re too long for me) and style them with my block wedges. They’re crafted from pure cotton so they’re super soft – perfect for wearing all weekend.

When I was shopping in Topshop on Oxford Circus (which is like a magic market full of cool concessions and boutiques) I found Hand & Lock which offers embroidery, denim customisation and monogramming. Any regular Frey de Fleur readers will know that I’m the brand ambassador for Merci Maman, a personalised jewellery brand, so I think everything looks better with a personal stamp. I got my jeans embroidered with my initials (it’s £5 for each letter) on the pocket – how fabulous are they?! Now I just have to resist getting everything in my wardrobe customised with my initials. The temptation is too real…

Everyone needs a statement white shirt and I love this Lace Frill Long Sleeve Blouse. Victoriana details are so on trend right now and I love the way they’re styled on this pretty blouse in all-over lace with elegant frills to the front and shoulders. A statement shirt like this for under £50 is a real steal – thanks Topshop!

It wouldn’t be a weekend of wandering around Notting Hill without my handy Blue Backpack by Fiorelli in tow. It’s big enough to carry my camera and Aspinal Wallet yet small enough that I don’t persuade myself to bring too much shopping home from the markets. It just goes to show that good things come in small packages!

Along with my new autumn wardrobe updates from Topshop I was wearing my Rose Gold and Mother of Pearl Watch from Guess. My jeans are pretty bold but my accessories are all about chic sophistication. I love how warm and feminine rose gold is so I’m a bit of a magpie to any jewellery in the shade. Whether it’s a ring, bracelet or a watch, if it’s rose gold… it has to be mine.
