How To Wear Orange This Summer

If the trendsetters of Instagram are any indication (which of course they are), orange is the new power colour. The palette is popping up in all shades from tangerine and coral to bright, punchy hues like mandarin and apricot.

With the trend in full swing there’s no better time to test-drive an orange skirt, shirt or shoe than during summer months. If you’re not persuaded by the end of this blog post then let’s not forget how luxurious orange looks on one of the most iconic fashion brands there is. If it’s good enough for Hermès, it’s good enough for us!

I’ve styled three different ways to wear orange for summer, whether on the weekend or in the office (yes, the office.) All of the clothes from these outfits are from New Look – proving you don’t have to break the bank to add a pop of colour to your summer wardrobe. Here’s how to dress it up and dress it down…

I love to wear bold colours in the office to brighten my day at work so when I saw this blood orange skirt I knew it had to be mine. Styled with this classic white wrap blouse and my striped Timex watch this combination is perfect for sophisticated workwear (and shh the blouse was only £17.99 – what a style steal).

My casual weekend look is perfect for brunch with the girls *I’ll have avocados on toast please* as it’s comfortable but classy. I dressed down in a chic bardot white shirt with mom jeans and an orange box bag. River Island have some cute ones too!

For my final, and most fabulously feminine, look I wore an orange pleated midi skirt teamed with a scalloped crop top. This shade of tangerine is so summery I can’t help but have a spring in my step when I wear it. Cocktails here I come…

For each of these outfits I added a personal touch with my Eternity Trio Necklace. This gorgeous gold necklace is engraved with ‘Freya, Emma, Tom – Linked With Love’ so that my beautiful brother and sister are always close to my heart. It’s such a versatile piece because I can wear it on a short chain, a long one or with other jewellery for a layered look.

The best part of these orange hues filling up our Instagram feed is that everyone can find a shade that works for their skin tone. Orange you glad? Comment below to let me know how you like to wear colour for summer!
