Postcards from Puerto Pollença

For my latest adventure I have been travelling around Majorca’s northeast coast where Puerto Pollença serves up a laid-back take on island life. Despite the pretty beaches, cobbled promenades and chic marina my favourite part of this small town is the main square, Plaza Miguel Capllonch, which is home to a busy market on Wednesdays.

Many artists have chosen Puerto Pollença as their home, such as Atilio Boveri and Hermenegildo Anglada Camarasa, so I knew I had to visit the market to experience the famous crafts and culture of the area.

The square was full with traders selling fruit, fish, clothing and crafts so being the shopping addict I am I couldn’t leave empty handed! I bought a beautiful hand printed sarong and a delicately painted ceramic bowl.

It was very hot as I was walking through the narrow streets but my white deep plunge neck dress kept me cool as the fabric floated in the breeze. Ever since I first saw Mr Self Portrait’s designs in Vogue I have been lusting for a dress from the collection but the hundred pound price tag has stopped me making the investment. When I saw this hollow print dress by SheInside I thought the resemblance was uncanny (and being under £30 I couldn’t really say no)! The lace cut out fabric is beautifully detailed and the skin coloured lining behind it blends in perfectly with my summer tan.

Although I was enjoying the market I wanted to make sure I met up with my friend at midday for a glass of wine and tapas in the square so I styled my dress with my Radley watch. Keeping an eye on the time has never been so lovely since I got this signature Euston Watch as every time I glance down at it on my wrist it glints in the summer sun.

I loved this model in the SS15 collection so when I saw it had been updated for AW15 I knew I had to have it! Rose gold is my favourite metal so the brushed and polished bracelet of the watch matches all of my jewellery perfectly – it also looks great against my olive skin tone.

In keeping with the feminine and delicate design the dial is white satin and includes a deep embossed pattern. I find that a lot of female watches are too ‘blingy’ but the clear stones at each five minute mark are so subtle that they complement the design rather than overpower it.

A white enamelled dog charm sweetly swings from the case as a cute reminder of the Radley brand. As I travel so much durability is really important to me in accessories and Radley is a brand that I will forever trust as I know that I can always rely on their products to be high quality, and beautiful, on any of my trips. I recently took my Radley Backpack to Rome and it became my favourite travel companion – you can read about that here.
