Parisian Chic On The Pont Alexandre III

After returning from Paris I’ve been a little bit gloomy. As much as I love London I miss the decadence and romance of Paris and am longing to return. Last night I was looking through my photographs and was struck by the beauty of The Pont Alexandre III.

It was a Saturday morning and we had just left our hotel to stroll along the Champs-Elysées – from the right bank we could walk straight over The Pont Alexandre III and we couldn’t resist stopping to admire the view from the bridge.

It’s a real masterpiece of steel architecture and the lavish decoration is a perfect illustration of the artistic style of the 1900s. The bridge was built to celebrate the Franco-Russian alliance of 1897 and it really brought out the art historian in me! Beautiful architecture like this can be found around every corner you turn in Paris so it was lovely to spend a weekend admiring the buildings and monuments of the city. Although I feel like there is still so much I didn’t see!

Looking over the bridge to the Seine below was a lovely way to see Paris and we decided to be real tourists and take a boat along the river. The scenic tour was very romantic and I was pleased I had dressed for the occasion in this Rosa dress by Chi Chi London.

I’ve always been apprehensive about wearing midi dresses because of my height but I found this dress didn’t make me look too short as the Bardot neckline and nipped in waist kept the attention above my shoulders. The bold floral print adds a really retro feel to the design which complements the 50s style of the skirt. You can’t not feel cute and girly in this dress!

My suitcase was packed with three dresses from Chi Chi London as the flattering fit was perfect for a romantic weekend in Paris – you can see my other Chi Chi outfit here. My jewellery is from the Love Knot collection by Orelia – I love how dainty and delicate their jewellery always is as with a statement dress like this it’s nice to just accessorise with something chic and simple. To add a touch of Parisian chic I pinned my hair back on one side and curled my fringe under for an easy but vintage hairstyle.
