Macarons In Paris

Angelina is home to Paris’s most lip-smackingly scrumptious desserts – all served in the “faded grandeur of a belle époque salon” just steps from the Louvre. When I was invited to Paris to review Hotel La Trémoille it was the first place I wanted to go.

The tearoom is famous for its Le Chocolat Chaud as it’s so velvety and thick that you almost need a spoon to consume it! Luckily for us it was very hot when we were in Paris so we thought the iced version might cool us down a little. It was served with a thick dollop of cream on top and was pure decadence. Just thinking about it now is making my mouth water…

For a day of sightseeing in Paris before my trip to Angelina I wore the Erin Dress by Chi Chi London. This organza print midi dress is perfect for special occasions but when you’re in Paris every day is a special occasion! The fitted bodice and sheer skirt midi overlay made me feel so feminine and chic. Chi Chi London always have beautiful fabrics and this floral print is no exception – as I strolled down the Rue de Rivoli on the way to Angelina it swished so elegantly against my legs.  The pale blue of the petticoat went perfectly with the semi-precious stone of my new Orelia ring.

Looking through the pastry menu is pure heaven if you’re a dessert connoisseur and I was spoilt for choice. Eventually I chose the Tartelette Fraise-Pistache and wasn’t disappointed. The combination of intense pistachio and delicate strawberry was delicious. Not to mention how light and fresh it was as an accompaniment to my iced chocolate drink.

Angelina usually has queues going around the corner so be prepared to wait but I promise it’s worth it! I couldn’t resist taking treats away with me so I bought some macaroons to enjoy in the Jardin Tuileries as we left.
