Autumn is a magical time in Durham. The late afternoon sunsets and the gold carpet of leaves along the river make it a season full of mellow evenings and glorious moments. When the weather turns a little bit colder there’s nothing like wrapping up in a winter jumper and having a walk in the countryside!
It’s so lovely to go on adventures outside then come in from the cold and have a warm home waiting for you and a cup of tea on its way! Best of all – autumn is my favourite season for style. Layering textures, chunky knitwear and tartan scarves all make up that ‘cosy yet chic’ look that I can’t get enough of.
For my latest style post I’m wearing a camel coat from Oasis, black roll neck dress from Next, a tartan scarf and a Chloé dupe bag (that everyone has been loving on Instagram). In autumn I like to keep my outfits simple and add detail with stacked bracelets and bangles. My winter wardrobe is mostly shades of black, camel and grey so I love to wear bold accessories that brighten these neutral tones when I take my coat off in the warm.
I’ve styled two Daniel Wellington watches with different jewellery and the same outfit to show you how versatile these classic timepieces are. As an accessories-addict I’m delighted to tell you that this Sunday I will be appearing on QVC to talk about Daniel Wellington watches! There is so much variety on QVC that choosing my favourite bracelets, bangles and beautiful watches from their jewellery collection wasn’t easy…
If you love keeping up to date with fashion then you will know how trendy rose gold is right now. My Instagram feed is always full of accessories, homeware and jewellery in tones of rose gold to fill me with serious shopping envy! This black watch is from the most minimalistic collection of watches by Daniel Wellington and the rose gold casing is so classy – oh and did I mention the dial is decorated with Swarovski crystals?!? What’s not to love about this watch!
To match the rose gold accents I styled my watch with some bracelets by Aurora and Links of London in the same tone. Stacking is such a popular street style trend right now but it’s tricky to get right. I always try to take into account what metals, textures and hues I am mixing otherwise I end up with a look that appears cluttered – and nobody wants that.
The best thing about a Daniel Wellington watch is that you can change the strap! I have leather and NATO straps for my watch so that I can alternate the styles depending on what I’m wearing.
If you’re style savvy, and also like looking after your pennies, then this is a great piece to invest in as being able to style this watch so many ways makes it very economical. Why buy loads of different watches when you have a unique timepiece for every day of the week with one Daniel Wellington watch and interchangeable straps?!?
My second look features a watch with a blue and white striped wristband. I love how it captures such a chic nautical style as the stripes make this the most preppy accessory in my jewellery box. The gorgeous strap is super comfortable, and although the face is large, the thinness of it means that the watch doesn’t feel bulky around the wrist at all.
Styled with a Links of London silver chain, Diamonique rings and Aurora bracelet this combination adds some really fun colour to my autumn outfit. Especially against the blues and reds of my tartan scarf. If you love colour then have a look at the shades available for these watch straps – you can even match your nail polish to your watch. Blue and red striped watch with a red manicure anyone?
Daniel Wellington really do design beautiful time pieces so if you fancy treating yourself before Christmas I can’t recommend them highly enough. As soon as you open the box, you can see that the quality is exceptional and everything about it, from the strap to the dial, feels luxurious. What’s more if you buy your watch from QVC you can get an amazing discount (more money to spend on accessories to match your new watch that way hehe) so tune in from 5-6pm this Sunday 15th November to see me!
