Broadway Market Backpack by Radley

The Broadway Market Large Flap Over Backpack made the perfect travel companion for my recent trip to Rome. It was large enough to fit everything I need whilst light enough to be no trouble when exploring ancient ruins such as the Roman Forum and the Colosseum.

Everywhere that we visited we saw beautiful art, architecture and culture on display so each day I packed everything I needed for sightseeing: map, sunglasses, money, suncream and water. One of my favourite churches was the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran, which is where I took these photographs, as the decadent mosaics and marble were awe-inspiring. I wanted to take some pictures of the Statues of the Apostles in the Basilica and I had no trouble fitting my camera in my bag.

Despite the heat I wore jeans to cover up my skin as entrance to religious buildings in Rome is denied if your attire is deemed inappropriate. My loose fitting white blouse kept me cool and the bardot neckline was adjustable for keeping my shoulders covered.

Practicality is the most important thing in a bag when travelling so the design of this Radley backpack caught my eye instantly. The hidden smart buckle opening, adjustable straps and top carry handle make it easy to carry. Inside the bag are two main compartments separated by a zip-top pocket which gives added versatility.

For me the standout feature of this bag is the integrated purse on the outside of the bag. It’s cleverly constructed to hold those items I need at a moment’s notice like my map of the city, bus tickets and some spare euros for buying gelato!

The minimalistic contours and chic leather folds make this one of the seasons most sought after styles from Radley’s collection so I’m glad I was able to get my hands on it in time for my travels! Grey is a great colour for accessories and the subtle shade was easy to style with all of my outfits. The grosgrain lining is a delicate shade of lilac and complements the grey leather wonderfully.  You can read more about what I packed for my trip to Rome here: Frey de Fleur Rome Essentials. You can browse and buy the Radley collection here:
