How To Style A London Fireplace

A new home always feels like a new start and moving to West London has been a great adventure to end the year. Our Victorian terraced house is spacious yet cosy, modern yet classic and just generally gorgeous! My favourite feature in the house is the fireplace. I wanted to carefully balance the shelf with art and photos that complemented the architecture and make it a focal point of the bedroom.

Having ordered some Desenio prints before I knew how good quality they were and we started browsing for posters. As a Matisse fan, this Contemporary Blue Print caught my eye straight away and I chose the other frames around this design. And how stunning is this royal blue! It’s a very calming colour, perfect for a bedroom.

The next print that I couldn’t resist is this Illustrated Face Print. It’s modern and minimalistic—just like my beautiful fireplace. Silhouettes are really important when styling a space and because I have lots of bold lines with overlapping black frames I knew the beige in this elegant piece of art would soften the arrangement.

Special keepsakes including a photobooth strip from an early gig with my boyfriend, a photo of my parents together and Instax prints from my birthday party are the little touches that make the space my own. Desenio sell Moebe Frames which open up for delicate framing of my favourite photo memories. They’re also great for flowers and leaves or small prints and postcards. Have you also thought about framing a vinyl record to showcase one of your favourite albums? I have Bob Dylan in one of these Classic Square Frames. Are you looking to add colour to your home?
